Primary focus of this print is the Eagle Ford Shale in South Texas. The central art connotes the current play with an old the past, when further south, Spindletop revolutionized the oil industry. The inset corner map shows the current locations (as of March 2012) of oil and gas wells. The legend gives the well count for the shale wells for oil, gas, and permitted. Opposite corner map of Texas shows the
counties with fields developed in the early 1900's. The text next to the map gives the county, field and date developed. The text next to the Eagle Ford map gives the current 'regular producing wells' by count in each county where the shale plays are taking place. The center art is bordered with early oil cans and pump globes from the early days. The tools along the top left show a few tools used in 1900 compared to the tools on the top right used today. The border background behind the logos is oil.
