Born and raised in north-central Texas, George Hallmark was an architectural designer and commercial artist before turning to easel painting. The center illustration is a firefighter kneeling among the rubble of the twin towers on 9-11. Surrounding this are pictures of fire engines from the very first one up to the present day. Firefighter's badges are pictured on the outer edge and many pieces of fire equipment are pictured throughout the print.
